When was the last time you had a comprehensive eye exam? If it has been longer than a year, you owe it to yourself to schedule an exam. Dial (925) 463-3530 (Pleasanton Office) or (510) 792-6842 (Newark Office) and we will schedule you for an eye exam with our optometrist, Dr. Bei Zhang. Even if you have a little one in your family, it is in your interest to schedule an eye exam for him or her. Babies should be provided with a comprehensive eye exam as soon as six months of age. Toddlers between ages three and five should be receive a minimum of one comprehensive eye exam to identify any visual condition that might have a negative impact down the line if untreated. Kids between the ages of 6 and 18 require an annual eye exam prior to starting the first grade and also in each subsequent year.
If you are an adult, you should visit our office at least once per year for a comprehensive eye exam. Your exam will include an intake of your health history as well as that of your family. The eye doctor will thoroughly check your eye health with several tests to evaluate your eyesight and eye health. The doctor will also evaluate your ocular functionality as well. Truly comprehensive eye exams involve visual acuity tests that determine how well an individual sees at a distance and up close, refraction to determine nearsightedness/farsightedness, depth perception, peripheral vision, focusing skills, color vision/perception and even eye teaming skills. If the eye doctor finds anything wrong with your eyes, the issue will be explained in plain English you can understand without a medical degree.
